What is Abeno Harukasu?

Abeno Harukasu is 300m in height with 60 floors above ground. It is the tallest high-rise commercial building in Japan. It was entirely opened on March 7th of in 2014.

In the Harukasu building, from the second basement floor to the 14th floor is The Kintetsu Department store. This also includes dinning from floors 12 to 14. Located on the 12th floor of the department store is Senri Shabuchin, a family run restaurant. The 16th floor holds the Abeno Harukasu Museum. The 17th floor to the 36th floor is mainly offices. From there to 58th floor is the Osaka Marriot Miyako Hotel. From the 58th floor to the 60th floor is the “Harukasu 300” observation deck.

You may enjoy a 360 degree view over the entire city from the glassed in observatory.
Admission fee is 1,500 yen for adults.

Senri Shabu-chin Abeno Harukasu Dining Restaurant

Shabuchin in Abeno opened in June in 2013 when the Kintetsu Department Store did.

The manager is Koji Umehara (36 years), the second son of the owner.
He has been working for more than 15 years at the flagship restaurant in Senri-chuo.

The owner himself works at the restaurant. Therefore, it is quite rare among the restaurants in Harukasu. Because of the small scale, the manager’s wife helps him with work during the day.

His brother works as the manager in the restaurant in Senri-chuo while his father is dedicated to making sauces in his home factor.
Both of the restaurants are small community-based restaurants where the whole family works together.

The Size of the store is 19 square meters with a 25-seat counter only.

Single Serving Shabu Shabu Hot Pot

The Osaka single serving style Shabu Shabu hot pot began 42 years ago in Senri –chuo, Toyonaka.

That was first “Senri Shabu Chin”. Traditionally, shabu-shabu is a hot pot cuisine in which everyone surrounds one pot and share. But this single serving hot pot quickly has become very popular because you are the only person who uses chopsticks in the hot pot. It is relatively inexpensive.

This style has had a favorable reception. It has become a way of eating without discomfort for people who prefer not to eat together with other people poking around the same hot pot. Particularly tourists from abroad.

The Store Manager is a Sommelier.

The manager was qualified as a sommelier in 2012.He was influenced by his brother, who became sommelier two years before.

He’s still inexperienced as a sommelier, but he is making many efforts to make sure customers to enjoy affordable and delicious wine.

His family is looking forward to offering you several kinds of red and white wines.
